Moving Wind: Modern Art Style of South Taiwan, 1986-1997
Moving Wind: Modern Art Style of South Taiwan, 1986-1997 is based on the research of “Preliminary Exploration of Tainan Contemporary Art 1: Study on the South Taiwan New Style Biennale” (which received a grant by the National Culture and Arts Foundation in the second term of 2016 in “Investigation and Research”). After many recurring interviews and collecting primary historical documents, and the addition of three reviews by three scholars Ms. Wang Pin-Hua (Wang Manping), Lee Shu-Pei, and Hsu Yuan-Ta, exploring the “Tainan Cultural Center,” an exhibition space in the public sector of the late 1980s, and its “substitute” in the future “Tainan Art Museum.” It had an innovative performance stage: the “South Taiwan Modern Art Style Biennial (1986-1997)”. The results of the investigation and research respond to the original inquiry of the project, and the beginnings of Tainan contemporary art with its members, works and exhibitions as an important and vital part of Tainan contemporary art history.
